John sorry we didnt get to run alot together. That motor was giving me fits and put me in a pissy mood.Im just impatient when it comes to break in and tuning ;D But you know what they say....once you go black you never go back...I have 2 OS Speeds on the way. It is hard to run something after you have ran a speed.

Congratz to all you guys for making a great showing!! Hoodrat good job on the first day out with buggy man! Duckt...lap traffic is a beeotch...now you can understand the difference between a 6 min qual and a 20 or 30 min main...a lot more variables go into that main. All of a sudden not only are you trying to stay in the front ,but you are now having to avoid traffic etc. But good job man. The only way you can learn is to actually be in that situation... Ohhh....did Jeff let you hold his truck in the pic??

Hey guys,
I'll be moving to Monroe the beginning of June. Looking for a place to race..is KT the go to place in Monroe? I'll be racing 1/8 buggy..big turnout of these? What are the favorites down there? I've been out of the game for a while and I'm starting over, so I'm not sure what to look at now a days.
Any other website local races hanout at? What are the local hobbyshops?
Thanks guys! Looking forward to it.

Hey there man, yeah KT is the place to be in Monroe, we try and have a club race every weekend that we can and usually practice on Thursday nights. Mario Knox(lockmouth) is the owner of the track. He can fill you in on all of the details

Sweet! Thanks guys. Things have changed ALOT in the 4 years I've been away. 2.4ghz stuff blew my mind when I started reading about it!
I used to work at the LHS for 2 years before it shut down, so I'm not exactly a nooooob, but I sure feel like it!
Thinking about going with the O'donnell buggy (not looking to spend 1:1 scale care prices--XRAY! haha)..any input? Local support?

What's up dude. good to see new people finding the forums. Not sure how good the local support will be for O'donnell. We all run, for the most part, Hot Bodies and Xray. You might see a losi or a o'donnell or a mugen at the track every once in a while. But yeah, we run nitro buggy, nitro truggy, a few people have 2wd and 4wd corr trucks. And Mario just got a E truggy so we might start to see more of those.

Hmmm. Haven't give HB too much of a look, as when I was getting out of the hobby they were just getting going, so I wasn't too sure of the quality of them. I'll do a bit of research on them. Any known weak links?
EDIT: Did a little research and seems that the D8 may be the way to go! Being cheaper and having local support is always a plus!
