Back and forth on what to look for in a motor, and reading mixed info. Watched a video on youtube explaining what mambas work best for what application. He suggested the 4600kv for offroad, the 5700 is usable, but leaned more towards the 4600 due to gearing. Claiming that the 7700kv-5700kv motors are better suited for onroad. The 4600 and 5700 can handle 3s, where as the other neu castle motors handle 2s.
So what are you guys running? And how do you equate kv to motor turns?
Sensored or sensorless?

For the 1/10 4wd buggy I highly recommend the Tekin 8.5turn Red line motor. Its a Fantastic motor and provides plenty of power but not too much with proper gearing and esc setup in a B44.1 Team Associated:-)

Aaron, Sensored motor systems have a much smoother operation. The battery voltage x KV will give you your RPM's The higher the RPM's equals less torque. That is usually why the 1/8 scale KV motor are like 1900-2250 and the 1/10 are much higher 4600-5700 hint's they don't need as much torque. I don't know if there's a chart that answers your question KV = turns when it comes to brushless motors. I would take the advice given from the member that are running the setups now, they did the research already. Whether it was trial or error they know now. Also, I would search the web/ Losi's site on the pro's setup sheets. They will probably list the speed control/motor setups and other good setup info like shock oil, shock placement, springs, tires for the type of surface. Hope this helps. Also check with Martin he has the same car at home.

I could be wrong but I believe anything below 13.5 is going to be consider mod. Not sure for now if your going to see a class for what you would call stock 4wd 1/10 buggy. I'll text you his number.
MHarrison is his screen name.

ended up with an Orion Vortex 5.5t sensored motor, any gearing suggestions? I'm not sure Aaron, but I would suggest asking Martin what he's going to use. Also would try Team Losi's website under setups that the pro have used with a mod motor (9-10 turn) maybe you can get a close idea and fine tune it from there.
