At this rate we will have 50 classes with 4-5 racers in each. Man I miss the old days of only a couple classes then having to fight to make the main.

All there used to be was stock and mod. None of the sportsmen, intermediate, open, pro classes. To me it all takes away from the racing. All the claases and different levels breaks up the classes to much and creates wasted time on race days with unfull heats and people that get sent home because not enought who had the cars who up for the race day. I bet racing would be alot better and have more competition if the classes were not soo diluted.

Probably so Rob, I do know some people feel intimidate with racing the so called "pro's". I usually just tell them don't worry about anyone esle out there if they are good enough they will go/get around you. We have to remember this hobby for the most part is just for fun competition and hanging out with some great guys/gals.

The reason the sportsman class started; and if you noticed it's just 1/8 buggy (Electric and Nitro) classes. So anyone who goes out and drops a $1200 on a buggy setup and goes out there trying to run in the same class as pro caliber people and can't get around the track and qualifies in the D or C main week in and out. They quit the hobby! We seen it before first hand! Another scenario is you a pro caliber driver racing and winning and get "TAKEN OUT" of the race by a beginner, you would want him in another class. That's my thought on this. I have been out the game of racing for a while before I got back in to it but do remember those days when there was stock and modify. All the beginners were driving stock(with stock motors) like me, My dad, an friends of mine. Then you had the modify class(modify motors) with Traig Clark, Bubbie Q, Tyrone Clark. Thats how I remember it.
