to hammertime and billy d let me introduce my self, my name is steve Collins. I just want to let everyone know I was not tring to bash on duane...im just looking for the truth like everyone eles is.. now to respond to what duane said to me, no one said anything about having Donald trump money the money that you need to get you track going does not come out your pocket!! you say your still waiting for the ins check, if you wont say anything I will. the check for victorylane was cut on oct 18th how I know this ... my wife works for the parish in the payroll and permit department.. the check came across her desk.. you got the green light in oct to get the ball rolling and yet you've done nothing..with the money to cover the building you can take the scr money that was given to you and stock tires and small stuff, you don't need a full blow hobby shop right now just the track,, again not tring to attack anyone its just time for the truth.. one last thing I was told if nothing is done with vlr come February the parish is going to take it back over and dispose of the place. it was brought up and voted on in a parish meeting this month.. merry christmass to duane and all vlr members and us non members

Well l I tell you what let me tell the parish president he lied to me about the check and his right hand man about me waiting on the check and all the legal stuff I'm going through so we can clear the air and I will tell him it was you told me? You ok with that. Because I was told yesterday that we need to do the job for under so much amount so it doesn't go out for bid. Oh my people trust me! My heart is in the hobby. Who are you?

Come on now, all we all want to do is race. The building is owned by the parish so they have the final say in what ever is done. If they want to pinch pennies to make a few bucks on the deal they are going to do so at the cost of us not racing.
There are plenty of other tracks in the area if you would like to race for the time being go else where and offer the support to the local tracks if and when you can.
Duane and Clint did something for everyone and took a chance to open a track for us racers to have a place to hang out and race toy cars. Sure they may make a little money in the long run doing it, but not many people would do it having another full time job, family, and other obligations to top it off. Does it suck that we have not been able to run there YOU BET.
However, remember this was all because of a couple punk kids that were looking for a quick buck that took the work of Duane and everyone who put in time to make the track come alive.

Big rob is right. It takes balls and serious enthusiasm to go all out and open a track and hobby shop which both are hard to make any money with. Duane is lucky to make enough money to pay the utilities and upkeep of the track. I've seen multiple tracks come and go in Chalmette. It's very hard to keep up and maintain. If your serious enough about the hobby you will have to travel like every one else. Let's all just hope we can get VLH back up and running.

I'll add this if it was not for duane and clint we would have never got to race in the parish must less indoors for as long as we did. Now even thought I have not been around long this is one of the best bunch of guys I have met in this hobby as I stated I am standing by when ever we get to start working on the building I will be there. Passed the track a week ago. No changes to the outside of the building. On a side note theres a lot of mud running out that side door into the street.
