Seems like I've seen some homemade setup boards in the pits, but I've never looked at them closely to see what they were made of. Of those who have made their own, can you describe the materials, costs and ease of availability? Seems like someone was saying that there was something cheap at Lowe's or Home Depot to make one quick and easy.
Any help would be appreciated.

Right now, I use a piece of aluminum sheet metal, 19x19", with about an 1-1/2 bend on one end. This was done with a sheet metal brake. It's notched, to clear any bumpers, or chassis parts overhanging. What I'm going to use, is this. www.tapplastics.com/product/plastics/cut_to_size_plastic/polycarbonate_sheets/516 Tough, and durable. Football helmets are made out of this stuff. A 19x20.5 piece is about $25. I have a piece of 1-1/2 angle aluminum I got from Depot, that will be attached to one end. It'll be notched to clear the chassis/bumpers. This setup lets me get the car square on the board to check toe. The board, being level lets me check camber, and ride height. I used to have a fancy setup station. It was pretty pointless, and a pain in the ass to set up, since all I need is to set camber, toe, and ride height.
