Hey all, need some advise. Ok, now I'm running my losi 8 2.0 on a castle creations mamba monster esc and 1800 kv motor, 13 tooth pinion and a 45 spur. I'm running this with 5s Hyperian 35C 4200 mah, batteries. I'm plenty fast, have no problems on the strait aways or heat issues with my motor, etc... But I am worried a little bit about the weight. I decided to get another ESC/motor/battery set up, to try something different, drop weight, and have two in case of a bad day. I'm deff going to get a tekin set up. RX8. I'm just not sure about the motor/battery/gearing. I'm thinking of a 3S hyperian 5000 mah 35C(fits only the losi) or 25C (fits losi and kyosho sharing batteries with my friend who is probably going to get a kyosho). Anyway, the 3s with a 2650 KV??? I'm thinking about making the 10 min mains, heat issues, I already figured out that this new set up with drop my weight by .6 lbs. SUGGESTIONS SUGGESTIONS.

Chris, I'm not sure about the setup your thinking about. But I do know that the Marjorie of us 1/8 scale Losi buggy drivers are not running that setup. We;re use the Tekin RX8 with a 1900kv-2050kv 15T 45 Spur 4S 5000-5400 25-40C is probably one of the most common used combo. Plenty of power, no heat issue, 10min mains. I hope this helps you Chris.

The setup you have is fine , but you only need to run it on 4s . 5s is big time overkill.
