Would the kyosho inferno ve be a good buggy to get for a beginner to electric? Hey Charliec, Kyosho makes great products. A lot of local guys race the gas version. I'm not 100% sure if the ve uses any of the 1/8 gas version parts or not. But that to me would be the only down side. I say this because if you brake a part you may not have one handy, thats if your planning on racing. The majored of us have Losi out there, very easy to come across a spare part. Same goes with setups, gearing, type speed controls/motors we use. I'm very happy with the performance of the Losi vehicle. Hope this helps. Keeping in mind your budget as well.

Yeah Billy i'm rcing on a budget so im trying to find something to get that will atleast get me racing without spending 1000. My wife is great and lets me have my toys but i'm already flying rc planes and just got a brushless boat so i have to kinda come in cheap and upgrade over time.. lol Have any opinions on the xtm electric buggy?

The 8.2 will easily cost over a grand depending on the setup and what you have, the Hot bodies, ofna nexx 8, or the Duratax DXR8-E.
They cost between 250 and 350 new at tower hobbies. Or get something used. Great deals can be found if you search hard enough.
I just ordered my RC8.2e and the price will make my head spin.. So I just don't think about it..lol ;D

Oh... another thought, 4X4 short course. A lot of us race that class to and its about 300-400 cheaper to get into with a nice setup. Its fun and just as if not more competitive than 1/8 buggy..
