Hey everyone...I am rebuilding my diffs on my Nitro Kyosho MP9 and have been going with the 5000f, 5000m, 3000r and was wondering if anyone uses a thicker oil in the front like say a 7000 wt in the front then 5000 middle and 3000 rear. Seems like the buggy would have a little better handling this way. Either way I do know my original setup works great I am just curious as to what some of you are using at the track. Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. Hey Michael, I checked with Jason W and he said he ran 5-6-3 Ebuggy and 5-5-3 Gas buggy. I don't know anyone who runs heavier fluid up front then there center diff. I would think with that combo it would act like a front wheel drive car and just be pulling the car/backend around the track. Hope the info helps.

Out of curiousity...I am running a 3 aluminum clutch shoe setup (made by Dynamite) on my O.S. V-spec .21 I have been using 1.0 springs. I am sure others are probably using a 3 clutch shoe setup but I am thinking about going down to a lighter spring like .9's
I am just thinking a little more bite would not hurt. This is on my 1/8 scale buggy BTW.
Also I have an O.S. Speed Tuned .21 I have been meaning to break in to try out on my 1/8 scale buggy as well with the same 3 piece aluminum clutch setup with the 1.0's.
I can definitely handle riding but maybe the Speed would be a tad too much engine for the Destrehan track?
Thanks in advance.

Don't look at the .9's as having more bite because all three springs will lock up the clutch after a certain rpm. The lighter the spring the sooner it will engage which may result in less tire slippage on take off and on/off throttle in turns. With the lighter springs, depending on your motor, you may feel the car to have less bottom end. This is because of the clutch engaging at a lower rpm which can be below the motors power band. The problem with heavier springs is when mixed with low traction the car can be difficult to drive. If I were you I would try the .9's and see how you like them. Then maybe go to the 1.1's just to see the maximum difference. Hope this helps. Sent from my HTCONE using proboards

Sent from my HTCONE using proboards Thanks Alvin Inreally appreciate this and I does in a way make sense..lol I am at the track now and holy mother my buggy is flying on this track with the 1.0 springs. I was having major problems with traction then realized Inwas using the wrong tires. I just switched to some kind of soft compund Italian made tires that I was sold at Adrenaline Hobbies...I dig them! Considering I have not run in 3 years and have about a Month under my belt I am proud of myself. This track is pretty technical but fun. The step up is pretty cool by gosh Darnit I want a bigger jump!! I will be out here for a while so someone come join me I am getting depressed all by myself...uh and I could use someone to flop me over when I am standing at the drivers stand haha. Love you guys I have missed ya...so someone take off work and come meet me. )

Well guyz I absolutely enjoyed practicing at the track today with my Nitro MP9 I have come a long way in learning to tune my engine so now it is absolutely dialed. Besides the track being dry it was still a lot of fun.
However...I really miss having an electric. I started out with the electric version of the MP9 but that has become a parts car for my Nitro.
I am considering purchasing a Mugen MBX7R ECO just so I can plug in and ride. After 4 hours of riding my nitro I would really love to have a decent electric 1/8 scale buggy to practice on after I am tired of fooling around with my Nitro.
Best of all it comes already built. I have a Mamba Monster combo with a 2650kv Castle Creations engine could I just throw that on there? It worked like a charm on the MP9e.
Thanks again everyone.

The Mugen is now a kit. I really don't know if there is a quality almost rtr buggy out there anymore. I have the Mugen 7R eco that I would consider selling as a roller with spare parts.

Have not been to track since this past Monday so I am not sure if the track got rained on but regardless I will probably be heading out there in the morning today "Thursday" sometime after 11:00am If anyone wants to come out and join me that would be great. I'll be bringing my Nitro MP9 just to get in some run time before the rain really starts coming this coming Week.
