Here is a question, whats the difference between the sportsman and the pro classes. I maybe interested in the short course class, but I don't think I'd consider myself pro. So I was wondering is that the skill level or the car setup.. as in motor turns etc. I'd be willing to race it either way. I'm just curious. willl there be a sportsman class for short course? there are two for buggy and two for truggy?

Short course tires and wheels and 2 cell limit on battery. Also it has to be an actual short course vehicle. Not converted buggies or other creation.

That is the point I was bringing up to Epic. Those rules are the rules that follow the class at ALL major events. That is also why you should try to go by them so you can run races held at other places than SCR. Unless you spend the money on 2 sets of batts and hubs. Unfortunately that is the way the saga unfolds.

Short course tires and wheels and 2 cell limit on battery. Also it has to be an actual short course vehicle. Not converted buggies or other creation. Let's Race!! Being new I do not understand why shortcourse has restrictions on batteries when no other class does? The other classes do have rules as well (4s lipo max), it's just that people don't worry about them. 4s 5000mah in a buggy is more than enough power with any available 8th scale motor today so few people venture into 5 or 6s. 4s is also enough to easily make the 10 minute mains that are currently being run. For some reason the big races are now running 10 minutes in shortcourse as well which can not be done competetively on your standard 2s 5000mah lipo. So either way, if you want to run the big races you have to buy bigger 2s lipos. I just ordered me some 6600mah 2s lipos so I can make the AMS and Cajun Classic this year.
