6 buggy classes, 6 truggy classes? What is short course getting 2wd, 4x4 pro, 4x4 sportsman, and 4x4 open? That would only be four and would some what properly repersent the strong class that it is. According to Derek Buono editor of xtreme rc cars magazine (Dec. 2011) Short Course is the most popular class nationwide. Nitro 1/8 is phaseing out and that has six classes. Our region is following the national trend. I am sure an event of this size would follow what the regional and national trend is doing by not excluding one of the biggest classes around? Flowood runs 3 classes in the January Jam this month and in it's points series- 2wd sct open, 4wd sct open and novice sct.

That information must have come from the democratic party because it is incorrect info. If you attend ANY big race nationwide the difference in entries is not even close between shortcourse and 1/8 buggy. It may be the fastest GROWING class but not nearly the biggest class. I personally think we should only have a sportsman and expert class in 1/8 as well as 4x4 sc. 1 class for 2 wd sc

Or one class for each vehicle type. If you qualify in the K main and don't like it, practice more. Learn your car. Get some wheel time. I've been in the K or lower main many times at bigger events. Bigger events: more fast guys to have to beat. Lesser chances you're gonna make the A. It is what it is.
Funnest big event I've attended was the Winter Champs down near Daytona (in the 90's). Pros raced the Joes, Joes raced the Pros and everyone in between.
Learned more about racing then running them guys and talking to them in the pits.

Maybe each person could have their own class with their own 1st place trophy. Then we could all be winners.............................................J/J

Leave the right and left out of this, you might piss the lefties off.

Qualifying is half the fun and challenge of this sport. Making the A is only a battle when there's more than 10 drivers in a class. Making the A at a big event where there's 20+ drivers, including a few pros and all of the local fast guys is not only difficult but quite rewarding if you do make it. Last comment and I'm done with this. If you finish first in the Open class and there are 20 guys in the Pro class, you've effectivley finished 21st by choosing to segregate yourself from the super fast guys, even though your final laps and times may have placed you in the top 20. Or top 10 for that matter.

Jim you are absolutely correct but also wasting your breath. I am sure the population of the USA is about to quit growing and start declining bc the new generation does not have the required berries to reproduce

What about one big class but somehow each driver put sportsman, open, or pro next to their name and build the heats with like drivers the best you can. I could see the pros getting aggravated when a sportsman takes them out. Just a random thought.

I could see the pros getting aggravated when a sportsman takes them out. Just a random thought. Pros = Ambassadors to the sport (well, they should be at least). Getting aggravated with the Sportsman driver, the "new" guy that just bought the same chassis he's pushing. Draw your own conclusions here. Pros - should be skilled enough to pass the Sportsman level drivers. I mean, they are "Pros" right? Or not (yea, I've been run over the back of by a "Pro", then thingyed at by him because I was in his line). Learn how to adjust your line when needed. You're a Pro after all. Sport grows (Pros help the new racers out, makes him feel good about shelling out 500 bucks for the latest buggy) and teaches the new drivers passing skills, even if talking to him "firmly" after being taken out. Gotta learn some way. Be as friendly as possible during the heat of competition (yea, I know, easier said than done). More driver's. More skills taught. Tighter, funner racing.

A lil CCOS news.
From the beginning I have said that this race is all about the racing. It's having an awesome track so the racing is fun and competitive. There will be an expo area with hobby shops and manufactures set up in there to help the racers in any way they can and they will be able to really inform any new people looking to get into our great hobby. This race is about the racers and the hobby. I have worked with many folks and we are getting some things that are needed for this race donated. This helped in keeping the entry fee as low as possible. The camper spots are $25 a day. That is the arenas price. They told me I could charge more as long as they got there $25. I told them no. If you rent a camper spot you will pay the arena directly. Also there will be lots of space to pit inside. That will all be free as well. First come first serve.
This part was going to be a surprise after it was over but I feel I need to post this.
After all bills and people are paid. The money that is left over will not go in my pocket. It will be devided up and given to the local tracks to help make improvements and keep the hobby going. The only way this can happen is there has to be 150 paid entries. All entries over that will be where the money comes to give back to the tracks. So coming and racing in this race will help your local track.
There are lots of things I am still working on. I will post them as they are finalized. Go get signed up and paid. There will be no entry taken at the track. You must sign up and pay on Rc sign up. We are at 96 right now. Come guys let's fill this thing up and make this hobby bigger and better.
Let's Race!!
