A thread to let my fellow workers and club members know (non members welcome) when we working on the track. Also if you plan to go to the track for anything other than a scheduled race, it would be good to check this thread so you know the status of the track. Example: Tomorrow, you are welcome to come help work but you will not be able to practice or run in any way due to the ripping of the spleen of mr. big jump. Also 2 other spots need a layer of clay dirt to get rid of some rutted holes. going to go from sandy and holey to smooth and grippy. Im letting all know now that I have to dampen some areas to do this properly. so if that rain that is suppose to hit late tomorrow dont stop the race. its possible the damp repairs could.
If we get enough help we can also fix that low spot by the bleachers. For once my primary concern is not water run off. With a few volunteers we can get it all done in a few hours.
Work starts at 3 PM 1/4/11 rain rain stay away.

TRACK CLOSED TILL SATURDAY NOON
track will not be dry enough to run before saturday. It may appear to be dry but repaired areas will be soft and rut easily.

Reminds me of the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" where Dreyfus builds a volcano in his living room.

Track will get puddles sweeped off in the am today. that will aid in making sure its dry enough by saturday. I need people to check on it from time to time to run off people who will mess up our hard work.
If the sign is out, tell them track is closed. It is public property but if the sign is out they are destroying public property.

So race is for Saturday? Seems like somewhere I read where "maybe Sunday" (based on the weather report earlier in the week and Wednesday's rainout)... Saturday at 6:30pm?  |

track should be dry vwduud but it will be real soft till saturday noon.
All it will take is someone to try to run on it before then, to cause major ruts and footprints. I need people to check on it from time to time because im not as motivated to repair those kind of problems. I will maintain and make it a better track if im not rapairing Bullchitery

Track work day scheduled for thursday 1/13/11. lets get some volunteers to help so the points series race is very successful.
One of the reasons I work hard on the track is to attract new
members/racers. these saturday points races is good exposure for
our track.
