something was said a long time ago and it was covered up with bs excusses and lets rally around the only indoor track in the south. Well I hope everyone can see it now and can put on there big boy pants and tell them where they can stick the "chargem up race". I hope i have not made my last trip to flowood but until they support our races, they won't have to worry about me either. I can already hear it, "Guys, if it wasn't for you la racers flowood would not exist. If I could pack it up and bring this track to la I would in a heartbeat. I have spent money out of my pocket to make this place happen and I really need your support." Once this happens I hope this is not the next comment." Callin all electrics! Lets take the trip up to flowood and go take care of them. If we don't go they might close down." I'm sure somethings will never change and one of the things that won't change is Brady will say what a lot of others are only thinking. But it still needs to be said. On a good note, I love the way la racers support la races!

Alvin, sorry I am just getting back to you on your question. As of now there will not be a kids class for 1/8th scale. If they are running a buggy then there will be the sportsman class that they can run in. Although we are only running one class of Truggy, they are still welcome to run with those guys as well. Alvin you are lucky with this answer. The last time I inquired about a kids class at Floowood I was told I should consider other races for my son until he was a little older or can compete with the adults. Needless to say WE did not attend. Once again great job this past weekend.

I will get Conners medal in the mail today and thanks for the props.

Alvin, sometimes the obvious is overlooked... Kids = (Go to school and tell friends, bring more kids to hobby and grow the hobby) Some of the kids we have now could wheel some sportsman too. ;D Kids class = 3 quals 5 min each 15 min, 1 main 5 min, total 20 min. Can anyone say we dont have 20 minutes on a race day to let our kids race? I dont care if only 2 kids show up, let them race! Just my opinion...

Funny you say that Chris, we have had the Kody/Gunnar show before at SCR when they were the only two kids.

Take a look at the "Charge em up" forum. It speaks for itself. If you went to the city of Flowood and explained how important it is to participate in other events and how they can make or break your future events.I'm sure they would understand you closing occasionally to have your Flowood team travel. We are not talking about Paris or New York City. It's Louisiana. You have a great track, but I won't be traveling there anytime in the near future. The way Flowood represents itself needs to change. Good luck

Wow, i guess "Charge em Up II" is meant for the racers, not the cars. LOL. Maybe it should be renamed "Fire em UP!"

OK guys I personally read what you wrote here and do understand where every person is coming from. First and foremost, I am not Bubba! Period. I am pretty much the middle man that seems to get caught up in all the drama. I'm just the IT guy that is responsible for running the counting system at the track, calling races, and posting on forums. With that being said, don't kill the messenger. There is nothing I like more than to travel to race. I absolutely loved the mississippi louisiana series that we did back when Leighton was alive. It worked seamlessly. I have been wanting to travel since the days we opened the doors to that place but with no one else being able to run the system and call races I was stuck. Now I will not sit here and list excuse after excuse as to why.
As some of you know, there is a lot of work that goes into making ANY track work. If you are responsible for any of your tracks there then you understand. We at FRC do have an advantage of having an indoor facility, therefore rain sleet snow or shine we could race. That is also a burden as well obviously, we have set hours with the city that we have to be open regardless and have to have the staff there available. I am not going to get into the politics as far as what all we have to do being city owned, you've heard enough of that already.
I have always tried to do my best at welcoming everyone, as well as showing appreciation for those that do come up here. I know there will be some that will come regardless but there are also those that have reservations about coming to FRC ever. That's fine, I personally hate that and if I could fix it personally I would. I would love to see the locals here participate and travel but the problem is that we don't have participation here either. Take for instance the memorial race last weekend, you guys had 84 racers and that is awesome. We had I believe 15 people total spread across 4 classes. I say that to say, we aren't getting them here either. I showed up late after the first round and was able to squeeze in the 2nd round and run the main.
We have now formed a committee at FRC so all the decision making is no longer left to one person...Bubba. It is now a committee of 9 people that will be deciding on things. We decided several weeks ago to do this so it can be run more like a club rather than a city business. You will begin to see a lot of changes and how things are handled. I finally get a chance to start traveling again now that we have several people available to run the counting system and call races. I am just one person in the group and would ask not to be held accountable for all other members here at FRC.
I have roughly 5 more weeks of racing weekends available due to a new child being born towards the end of September. I'm the type that I don't care where I race, just as long as I get to race. Will we at FRC ever be like the LA guys and travel with 50 people, I hope so but we are nowhere close to that right now. We have already talked to Mario about his race coming up next weekend as well as Jeff in Watson about bringing a crew down there as well. We "racers" got together and decided regardless of FRC we wanted to show our appreciation to you guys and extend the support your way. Too little, too late? Maybe so but I just hope you guys know that is not the intention and never has been at all.
Take this for what it is worth, but I feel that everyone in this together is a family and we ALL need to do whatever it takes to make it happen. If you have a concern with FRC you no longer have to go to just Bubba, approach the committee with it and I can promise we will do everything in our power to correct/fix the problem. Change is coming!

1- Who is Jeff in Watson? And did you even know Action burned down and is closed? 2- I personally believe yall need to start with growing racing at your track and cater to your members before you worry about us. I felt totally unwanted by the Ms. racers on my last two visits and maybe that is because they feel un-important to yall. Anyway that is all i have to say on the subject because I have my own "Team" to cater to. We race every Saturday at 5pm at SCR, c yall there! Alvin

I believe it is Jeff Grey. I may be mistaken on if it is Watson or not. And yes, I was aware that Action burned down.

I'll just throw things out there from my perspective... At Bring the Heat I remember seeing the flyers get put up. I didn't really pat attention to what was on it for scrambling to make the race, then didn't think to check it out later. I regret that. A memorial race is always something to try your best to make and this wasn't all that far away. The time between Bring the Heat and the memorial race was sketchy for me getting ready for the Alabama Indoor Super Nationals. I can't speak for why anyone else didn't make it, but I think it's extremely silly to blame a track for that. Blame the racers, but like Matt said there wasn't anyone at FRC either. What's the hype about no 1/8 kids class? Browsing through events on RCSignup I can't find anyone that has a class designated for that. There is 1/10 kids class. Heck, I'll let a kid borrow one of my cars if he only has 1/8 scale. Obviously racing 1/10 against 1/8 isn't fair and we're trying to keep the classes down so we can knock this out in 1 day. The plan is to not run a class if there isn't at least 8 in it. Do you think we would have at least 8 kids running 1/8? Will you be mad if you come planning to race and even though we had the class listed there aren't enough to make a class? These are things you have to consider. As Matt said we have formed a committee where we discuss things and they are put to a vote. Going forward I feel very positive about where FRC is going. We actually had a meeting last night where we discussed how we've never made a group effort to go to one of the LA tracks. Looking at the events coming up there, here, and elsewhere in the region we decided the 8/27 race at Full Throttle Raceway would be the best one to attend as a group. Keep in mind we don't have a whole lot of dedicated racers in the area so no guarantees how big the group will be. Now would it have been better if we could have done this for the memorial race? Sure! We just weren't organized enough before to make it happen. I just found this thread and can't believe all the drama festering here. If you want to race somewhere, do it. Everyone is welcome at FRC. Anyone who feels they aren't, or have complaints please talk to me or another committee member. Alvin, I remember talking to you at both the races you came to and I didn't get the impression at all that you had a bad experience. If you've been rubbed wrong by anyone or anything at FRC in the past I apologize. I can't directly speak for anything that happened in the past, but things are being ran differently going forward. I am a member of the FRC committee and I assure you that any complaint/concern I hear will be voiced. You can reach me via PM on here or more directly on the FRC forum. Or better yet, just call me at 601-278-7329. After many years reading forum posts on the Internet I know things are often taken the wrong way in text. ...when I started typing this I told myself I'd keep it short... oh well.

My thoughts on some of your points.. At Bring the Heat I remember seeing the flyers get put up. I didn't really pat attention to what was on it for scrambling to make the race, then didn't think to check it out later. I regret that. ( At the races following bring the heat, it would have been nice to at least make announcements about the memorial race coming up. I was at two races and did not hear anything about it, someone correct me if I am wrong.) I can't speak for why anyone else didn't make it, but I think it's extremely silly to blame a track for that. Blame the racers, but like Matt said there wasn't anyone at FRC either. ( I do blame the racers but also the track as a whole for not promoting it in any way, after all the support la racers and Mitch in general have provided.) What's the hype about no 1/8 kids class? ( We have always ran Run What You Brung kids classes, they all get a trophy, medal or none do. As far as being fair, it's more about getting kids interested in racing. Maybe this idea works since yall only had 15 people and we had right at 10 kids. Check this link laracer.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=info&action=display&thread=502 14&Under Class, only a small percentage of races even get posted on rcsignup, so I wouldnt quite call that a true example of what races have kids classes.) I just found this thread and can't believe all the drama festering here. If you want to race somewhere, do it. Everyone is welcome at FRC. Anyone who feels they aren't, or have complaints please talk to me or another committee member. ( I believe we have just voiced our complaints or as you say drama.)If you want to race somewhere, do it. [glow=red,2,300](ABSOLUTELY)[/glow]

At the races following bring the heat, it would have been nice to at least make announcements about the memorial race coming up. I was at two races and did not hear anything about it, someone correct me if I am wrong.I agree. The ball was sufficiently dropped there. I do blame the racers but also the track as a whole for not promoting it in any way, after all the support la racers and Mitch in general have provided. The FRC committee was just formed a week ago and previous to that I just showed up to race and that was it. I don't know exactly what support was given or received. I'm really just picking up bits and pieces. Honestly, I would love to hear from you to get the whole story. I just don't think a forum is the best way to discuss it. We have always ran Run What You Brung kids classes, they all get a trophy, medal or none do. As far as being fair, it's more about getting kids interested in racing. Maybe this idea works since yall only had 15 people and we had right at 10 kids. Check this link laracer.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=info&action=display&thread=502 14&Under Class, only a small percentage of races even get posted on rcsignup, so I wouldnt quite call that a true example of what races have kids classes.I just can't get behind racing 1/10 and 1/8 together. It was a long time ago, but I was a kid once. I know if I was struggling to get around the track with a CORR truck and another kid plowed me off the track or broke me with a 1/8 scale I would lose interest quick. I was serious about the questions I asked though. Do you think we'd have enough kids to race a 1/8 kids class? I'm new to the management side of things at FRC, but am very excited about things coming up. Keep in mind this track is now ran by a committee of racers. Again, I want to make it clear all are welcome at FRC. I hate to see all this negative reaction, but people are entitled to their opinions. I just urge everyone to give us another chance and talk to a committee member if you have any concerns. If I don't answer the phone I'll call you back. 601-278-7329
