I know everybody is ready to help. But is this something we want to rush? And we just raise entry fee money. Whatever is decided count us in.

Benefit race this Saturday at FRC in Flowood Ms. Start time is 12 noon Entry fee is $20 for the first class and $15 for each additional class. If you have any additional r/c related items you would like to donate, that will be great as well. Let's get Cayne and Jay back to racing.
Here is another suggestion. If you have a sponsor you can copy and paste the URL to this thread , and email it to them and see if there is anyway they would like to help out with this cause.

First of all let me thank Jamie and Melissa for bringing this to my attention at FRC Saturday. You know I made an announcement about it that day.
I talked with Alvin yesterday and I called and spoke with Jay last evening. We are going to run the Jay and Cayne Bladen Benefit Race at FRC this coming Saturday. We will open the doors for practice at 9am and try and begin the racing at noon. Entry fee is $20 for first class and $15 for each additional class. Proceeds will go directly to Jay and Cayne.
Guys I am so proud to be part of this and see how the R/C community wants to help Jay and Cayne. Today I have contacted each of the sponsors for Bring The Heat and told them the story. I have also contacted Redrc, NeoBuggy and Big Squid to let them know about it. I am already getting responsed back from the manufacturers wanting to help. All donated product will go to them to help them get back up and running. I am expecting everyone that races here locally to be here and feel like all my Louisiana Brothers in R/C will be here as well. These guys are very deserving and lets show them how much we care. If you cannot make the race but would like to donate something you have for them, please send it with someone coming to the race or mail it to FRC and they will get it. I think we are going to have a big turn out for this and a great day of racing to show them our support. Bubba

The fire was caused by not using a lipo sack and the battery was getting a little tear in it. so use a lipo sack and throw away all torn lipos.Trust me!!

Thanks for posting that Jay. Man really sorry to hear about your gear. On a side note everyone needs to check out this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZEkewCjiDs0I'm not sure a lipo sack would have helped. It actually seems to create a flame thrower out the top of the bag. Don't quote me on this but I hear the best way to charge/store these batteries are in METAL ammo cans with a ziploc bag full of sand on top of them. If they catch fire the ziploc will melt and dump sand on them. EDIT: Just found this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6M5ftkN9PtY It seems the metal box idea works. The ammo cans are hard to find. I bought mine from an old guy on the side of 61 North towards Saint Francisville. I see him regularly during my commute to the hunting camp in the fall/winter. Glad everyone is safe.

OK Guys we are ready at FRC for the Jay and Cayne Benefit Race. Our doors will open at 9am and we will start racing at 12 noon or close to it.
Mugen has stepped up and will give them a one time buy in at a great price to be able to replace their Mugen stuff if that is what they choose to do. So far, AKA is sending me some product for them for sure. I am waiting to hear back from others.
If you cannot make the race but would like to donate directly to them, you may do so at Jay's pay pal account at jay.bladen@gmail.com There are some guys that had contacted me about making a donation that are racing elsewhere this weekend. Thanks to all of you that are helping support this. It is for a great cause. These guys deserve it.
